Isn't it quiet racist, Gabry's remark? At least it's very insensitive, Rei is portrayed as really distrusting and afraid/disappointed by the "normal" world. We know that his kind is treated like worthless animals. They've known each other only for a few hours actually, I doubt they are already close enough to be on the "yo nigger!"-level, where insults are a sign of affection. Okay, people will probably tell me now not to be so uptight, it's suuuch a cute remark… Yeah, from our point of view. But after emphasizing for so many pages in two stories how much Rei's kind suffers from the treatment they receive from humans, and how different the OC-crew around Gabry is, it's really out of place. A high price for the sake of a simple joke :/
I can see where you’re coming from, but Kytri’s made it pretty clear that Gabry isn’t the most tactful of characters.
Charshy, where ever you are, you predicted this and you are a wizard. Predict something funny including coffee and Rei, it is your obligation as resident wizard.
Also I'm guessing Gabry's explanation won't be the honest: "well, I freed a Nai'Ka, got sex bruises, told snipes and bar guy we had an "order" for them. Oh, and I have a non-euphemism anti magic rod now."

I'm just going to assume Gabry's Exciting Rapey Day will be off-screen and leave that conversation alone. As for coffee and Rei…
Rei will drink the coffee and declare it tastes like death (LIKE EVERYTHING ELSE IN THE SURFACE WORLD). Then Gabry will say something like how he knows he is always home when he has Robbie's coffee. Rei will pause, consider, and declare a newfound love of coffee.
This may take 2 or more pages.
