I know that's it's, like, hella dangerous, but nuclear power's a pretty cool power to have. You could even say it's… rad. BD
So he has good control of his magic, but he keeps the iron on as an extra precaution. In other words they're something of a dampener so he can keep better control when his emotions get overwhelming. Does that make sense? I get why he has them, but did what I just say make sense?
